Mrs. Medina-Bowers

Welcome to the Early Childhood Center at Columbus Avenue School , where "It All Starts Here!"

As the principal of this vibrant community, it is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to the very beginning of their educational journey. Our school is a truly special place, dedicated exclusively to our district's youngest learners. With a robust community of Universal Pre-K and Kindergarten students, our halls are filled with the energy of "life-long learners" in the making.

To meet the needs of our families, we are proud to offer both full-day and half-day Pre-K sessions five days a week, alongside our comprehensive full-day Kindergarten program. Whether your child is beginning their first school experience or joining our Kindergarten, we ensure every child thrives through a rich blend of direct instruction, art, music, movement, and play.

Warm Regards,

Johanna Medina-Bowers

A strong partnership between families and schools helps students thrive. One of the best ways to become involved in your child's educational experience is by joining our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA plays an important role in supporting students, teachers, and school programs while helping to build a strong sense of community within our school.

By becoming a PTA member, parents and guardians have the opportunity to collaborate with school staff, share ideas, and contribute to activities that enhance the educational experience for all students. Members can attend meetings, volunteer at PTA-sponsored events such as book fairs, and support initiatives that help strengthen our school community. Join our PTA today!
