At Archer Street Elementary, we empower students to D.R.E.A.M.—Discover their passions, Reach for success, Engage in learning, Aspire to greatness, and Make a difference. Through strong academics, social-emotional growth, and community partnerships, we nurture confident, lifelong learners ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.

 

The theme, Language Arts, Mathematics and Technology, is the catalyst for developing an inter-disciplinary, multimedia approach to support each child’s academic development. In a safe and supportive environment that nurtures social and emotional competencies along with curriculum based instruction, the children develop high expectations for achievement. Children’s positive self-esteem and a love for learning are fostered through such programs as  Seasonal Read-In Celebrations and the Green Light Program. Our state of the art technology – Smartboards, laptops and video-conferencing – enables us to develop interactive multi-disciplinary learning projects. Family activities such as Puente, Math Family Night, Game and Dessert Night, PTA sponsored events and Read Across America help create a strong sense of community within our school.

Volunteering at School:

  • Mystery Readers:Become a Secret Reading Guest!  Experience the joy of storytime firsthand by reading to your child’s class.   You’ll be invited to share the magic of literacy with our young learners.  It’s a high-impact, memorable way to spend time in your child’s educational world.
  • Writing Publishing Parties:Celebrating Young Authors! Our students work hard to find their voices, and every great author deserves an audience!  At our Writing Publishing Parties, you are invited into the classroom to celebrate your child’s growth as a writer.  As a guest, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to students read their “published” works, offer encouragement and join us in a special celebration of their creativity and hard work.

 

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA):

  • The heart of a great school is its community. Joining the PTA is a wonderful way to partner with us in making your child’s school experience even better. We believe that when families and staff work together, our students thrive. Being part of the PTA isn't just about meetings; it’s about being an architect of our school’s culture. Join us in making school life more memorable, more connected, and more rewarding for every student.
  • The PTA puts the "extra" in extraordinary through book fairs, fundraising, dances, and so much more!
